For over 1000* years we've been gathering in the woods of Bethel VT to scare small animals and reclusive Vermonters with a combination of LEDs, techno, and fire.

Through the millenia the Lightning Bug community, the woodland creatures, and the locals have deloped a symbiotic relationship where the locals provide the a place for the Lightning Bug community to gather, and they in turn provide the local environment with an anual refresh of excreted MDMA on which the local flora and fauna, as well as municipal water supply have come to depend on*

In this way, Lightnight Bug is an encapsualation of the great circle of life

We follow the 10 Principals

Each year we selecte 10 principals from regional Montessori schools to run Lightning Bug. This solves the problem of having to live up to ideals, and means that power is in the hands of people that truly don't want it
